Adventure Week Tärendö

Short Description: A multi activity week in the heart of Swedish Lapland. Enjoy
all the activities in the beautiful surroundings of the Tärendö
Forest Hotel between the river and the wild forest.

Daily Description:
Day 1 On your arrival in Lapland we will pick you up at the airport
(either Kittilä, Pajala or Kiruna) and bring you to the
charming Forest Hotel. Upon our arrival at the hotel our host
will be waiting for us with a culinary forest drink. You can get
to know the hotel, relax and perhaps have something in the
bar or in front of the open fireplace. In the evening a warm
2-course dinner will be served. After dinner information
about your stay is handed out, along with warm winter
clothing.

Day 2 What is the most peaceful way to travel in Lapland? Of
course by Huskies! We will visit a nearby Husky farm and
spend our day with these eager sled dogs. Here we will have
the possibility to drive our own dogsled for 40-50 km
(Approx 6-8 hrs). Our Husky guide will serve us a delicious
outdoor lunch, which he will prepare over an open fire! In
the afternoon we will have free time.

Day 3 Today we will enjoy a half day snowmobile tour (2h) where
we will drive through beautiful forest scenery and over open
plains and wetlands. The guide will serve us a hot drink and
a snack during the trip. Lunch will be served at the Hotel and
in the afternoon we will get a lesson in the basics of crosscountry
skiing.

Day 4 After breakfast we will have a guided tour through Tärendö
village. Tärendö is one of the best preserved folklore centres
in Lapland, beautifully situated beside the Tärendö River. We
will also visit the church and one of the oldest sawmills of
Scandinavia! Lunch will be served back in the hotel.
In the afternoon we will have free time. You can enjoy and
discover the nature of Lapland on your own, or join one of
the offered safaris.

Day 5 Visit to Sámi Peter Perttu and his reindeer: A taste of Sámi
culture and an insight into the Sámi (Lappish) lifestyle. You
can also try lassoing and driving a reindeer sleigh. In the
lavvu, you can taste different delicacies. Lunch at the Hotel.In the afternoon we will have free time. You can enjoy and
discover the nature of Lapland on your own, or join one of
the offered safaris. Please ask at the hotel for all
possibilities.

Day 6 In the morning we will go out onto the frozen River to try to
catch some fish! Our guide will explain us the secrets behind
ice-fishing and why patience is so important. Let’s ask the
chef to show us how to perfectly grill the fish over an open
fire! After the instruction we will be able to keep the
equipment for the rest of the day to keep on fishing. In the
afternoon it is time to warm up in the outdoor sauna and
hot-tub of the hotel.

Day 7 Today you have time to design your own day. How about
rounding up your holiday with a trip to the world famous
ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi. In the evening it is time to return
the thermal clothing. We will round off the week with a
delicious 3-course dinner.

Day 8 Time to say good bye to the winter wonderland of Lapland.
We will have a transfer back to the airport.

Equipment: Thermal clothing, kick-sledges, Cross-Country equipment,
Ice-fishing equipment and snowshoes for the entire stay free
to use

Optional services: Visit to the world famous ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi, optional
activities during the free times. Please ask the Hotel
reception.

Driving License needed: To drive a snowmobile a valid driver’s license (125ccm) or
an equivalent acknowledged by the Swedish government is
required
